Got a call from one of the authorised consultancy of Aspire Systems regarding the opening available for Node.js for one of their leading MNC client. I was asked to come to Aspire Systems office in SIPCOT for the first technical round. Initially, the questions were mostly logical later questions on Node.js we're asked. I got selected for this round and feedback was shared spontaneously.
Next two technical rounds were supposed to be with the clients and it took almost 2 weeks for them just to get a schedule with the client for the interview. Finally, they got a schedule for the 2nd round and it was on Skype. Even in the second round I got the feedback within an hour. Very next day, the third and final technical round was kept with the clients. The interview went on smoothly for an hour.
After the 3rd round interview, HR from Aspire System said that the clients have given a very positive reply on the interview and hence they wanted me to share necessary documents like payslips, marksheets, PAN copy, Address proof, etc. to complete the interview process. After I shared documents with them, there was no reply from the HR regarding my interview. Three days later, I got a reply stating I was rejected in the third round. I was shocked with the response because documents of the candidate are collected only after the candidate is selected for the Job opening. In my career, I have never seen any company collecting documents if the candidate is rejected.
Getting selected/rejected for a Job opening is part and parcel of the game. But, creating false hopes, not responding to calls and rejecting candidates for unknown reasons after collection of important documents is very very unethical.
Advice to HR:
Request you to conduct and close the interview process in a professional and an ethical way. I also request you to respond back to candidates irrespective of the result of the interview.
