      Jr. Graphic Designer Interview

      May 4, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Assignar (Denver, CO) in Apr 2022

      Interview

I applied online and was invited to interview with their Growth Marketer a couple of days later. The interview went very well and was conversational and professional with no 'trick' questions and gave me the opportunity to learn more about the role and the company overall. I was invited to interview with a UX designer 3 business days later who was also very respectful and asked thoughtful questions, particularly about what I was looking for in a team and leadership. I could tell that she cared deeply about her team and the company's vision. I was given a small take home design assignment. Sometimes these assignments make a designer wonder if they are being used for free labor, but the assignment was appropriate for it's purpose and didn't take an extensive amount of time. I was also not given a strict time frame for the assignment so I didn't feel put on the spot. I presented the assignment a week later and received positive feedback. After presenting the assignment, the Growth Marketer was very transparent and let me know that it would take an additional week or two in the interview process because of a new hire in leadership. I appreciated the openness and never felt like my application was lost in the sauce or that I didn't know what was going on. I did receive an offer from another organization that I ultimately accepted. I informed Assignar, and they recommended that I take the offer since they could not rush their hiring process, which I found completely understandable. I wanted to include my review because I see some negative reviews about others' interview process. I just wanted to say that everyone I came into contact with at Assignar was professional, respectful, transparent, and timely. If I had not accepted the competing offer, I would have hoped to have been brought on the team.
