The application process proved to be quite extensive, starting with a lengthy test on Gorilla that consumed over an hour. Personally, I found this assessment method somewhat detached from gauging one's actual capabilities for the role. However, I understand it serves as a means to sift through candidates. During the interview phase, I encountered an interviewer who seemed to communicate in a robotic manner, making it challenging for me to establish a connection. The session felt more like a scripted Q&A, favoring those adept at memorization. Receiving a rejection email about 10 days later was disheartening, especially considering my track record of success in interviews. Adding to the disappointment was the fact that I had already invested money—1000ksh for the police clearance—under the impression it was a requirement upon receiving an offer. Despite my confidence in securing the position, it seems fate had different plans for me. Admittedly, I did stumble through some questions during the interview, as the lack of human connection with the interviewer became apparent. Nonetheless, I've since found employment as an Account Executive elsewhere.
