I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Atlassian (Austin, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
The process was a bit slow. They had a lot of candidates for this position and a employee which was needed for an interview was absent at some time..
I liked a lot to talking to the engineers. They seemed very smart and were always friendly.
All the interviews were online, mostly with people from Austin, TX.
I didn't get an offer in the end because they wanted somebody more senior. Although I had the feeling the technical screening went very very well.. My background is in security but I was always employed in software engineering positions..
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Code reviews of Java, Python, JS code and finding the vulnerabilities in the code.. If you know the common security problems in software you will have no problems with the reviews. Some were a bit more tricky but still nothing to difficult.

Technical Coding Test:
You will be invited to complete an online Hackerrank assessment. 5 question split of approximately 2 LeetCode easy, 3 LeetCode medium.
Phone Interview:

Coding interview will require you to walkthrough a LeetCode easy question with an engineer that has experience in your chosen language. Question will be relevant to the role that you're applying for. Good to have some experience with data structures, debugging and communicating your thought process.
Cultural interview has several questions to determine fit with atlassian values and general attitude in the workplace. This will be run by a manager. Come prepared with examples in STAR format.
Post Interview:
Within a week of interview completion there will be a call with your recruiter discussing your feedback on all previous interview rounds. They will then have another follow-up call to determine if an offer will be given.

Interview
The interview process was straight forward:
1. Recuiter interview - mainly talking about the role and my experience
2. Hiring manager interview - more in-depth skills and experience discussion
3. Technical interview - three very basic questions / scenarios
4. "Team Fit" interview - personal values / team fit / banter / discussion
These interviews are spaced out over about a month.
Made it through the fourth interview with positive feedback and up until now it was a very positive experience. Then two months passed with zero contact from Atlassian. Complete radio silence. I had reached out for an update several times with no response. Eventually, the recruiter told me that although I was better suited for the role they were "obligated to go with the triple threat". This was apparently a term regarding race, gender and sexuality. As an "equal opportunity employer" that comment didn't sit well with me.

Interview
There were three major portions of the interviews. After applying online an Hackerrank coding challenge was given. That was followed by a phone interview round with the recruiter which was mostly behavioural. The final rounds had three interviews back to back. A Values rounds, Technical round (security concepts & scenarios ) and a coding round (the question was from Leetcode). After a week of the final round my recruiter got in touch with feedback.
