I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney) in Aug 2023
Interview
I was introduced to the company through a referral. My interaction with recruitment manager, however, seemed more like a casual chat rather than a formal interview. Just a minute before our scheduled call, HR requested to reschedule, which was very last-minute.
During our subsequent conversation, the focus was heavily on the nature of my acquaintance with the person who referred me, BASICALLY SHE KEPT ASKING HOW DID I KNOW THE PERSON WHO REFERRED ME.
Unfortunately, I didn't get an opportunity to delve into specifics about the role. Then, HR said she is going on maternity leave and that another HR member would continue the interview process.
She mentioned that this was an initial call to better understand candidates, but it felt somewhat sidetracked from the main purpose. AND NEVER HEARD BACK. HR JUST WANTED TO KNOW HOW YOU KNEW THE PERSON WHO REFERRED YOU! TRAIN LOUISE BETTER PLEASE
