I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Auto-Owners Insurance (Lansing, MI) in Jan 2013
Interview
Very basic. One in-person interview. I met with two supervisors and one branch manager. All were friendly. They were a little stiff and I could tell they didn't typically stray off of their script, but overall, the experience was enjoyable. Most of the questions were about how I handled stress or difficult conversations/people. I was previously a teacher, so a few questions revolved around why I wanted to switch industries. There was nothing too prying regarding that issue and that portion of the interview was fairly conversational.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Auto-Owners Insurance (Charlotte, NC) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview process was well put together. The field recruiter was very helpful with several layers of information. I was kept informed up to the time of the interview. Those in the interview seemed friendly and positive.

They asked about my experience related to high volumes of tasks each week.
Virtual and in person. Nice people but very selective. You need deep experience to be considered. If your new to insurance maybe get experience at a big carrier and the apply.
