I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Auto-Owners Insurance (Columbia, MO) in May 2014
Interview
The interview process begins with the standard phone call asking for an in person interview. I then scheduled the first interview. This took place with first a manager that gave the basics about the company and what was expected of the candidate. Next, he switched off with another person, this time another underwriter in that office. After this interview I was called a few days later and was asked to schedule another interview. This one with the manager of that regions office. After this I was called with their decision a few days later.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were pretty standard for underwriters and the insurance industry as a whole. Tell me about a time you had a conflict in your current job and how you dealt with it. Good examples of conflict resolution, empathy towards others and working with others cannot be over stressed enough. This is what I have seen in all my interviews with insurers.

Interview
I applied online and was contacted to set up an interview. I had a video interview using webex with the branch manager and a supervisor. Then another interview with two other supervisors. In total, it lasted about an hour. The interview was pretty relaxed and friendly.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Auto-Owners Insurance
Interview
The interview was overall laid back, open conversations, no tricky questions. But I did prepare and was ready for the typical questions: tell me about yourself, why do you think you'd be a good fit, what was your favorite class, least favorite class, greatest accomplishment, difficult situation you handled, etc.
