Question 1
What is your greatest leadership weakness and how have you overcome it?
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AutoZone (State College, PA) in Jun 2023
Interview
Applied online, they got back to me three whole weeks later. Set up an in-person interview. I got to the store 10 mins beforehand, but the manager was “busy.” It didn’t start till half an hour after it was supposed to. Got grilled on how I delegate, handle conflict. Standard stuff. Then got asked “what would you recommend for a tune up” when that question has 20 different answers.
Only after 40 minutes of this did they finally say they weren’t actually hiring for an MIT (so why did you even post it?). When asked what I would need to “pay the bills” if I were to accept Part Sales Manager instead, I said I’d need 20+ an hour. You know, because my rent is 1,000 a month?!? Their offer was 12-13. I walked right out. These people live in a different stratosphere, paying all their workers poverty wages.
2 step process. Meet with local store first. Then with the DM second. Both were about a half an hour long. Good times. Lets get to thirty words here on this sentance, ok?
