I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Axle Informatics
Interview
After applying to the job on the company's website, I received a call from one of their HR representatives, who I spoke to for about 20 minutes, detailing briefly my experiences. I was suppose to get an email from them so we could be in contact and schedule an interview, however never received it. A week later I called, described my situation to the receptionist, who promptly hung up on me. I then called again, got a different receptionist who chastized me for not having the name of the HR person who called me a week prior and never emailed me. I left a message for the HR department. The same day, I received a call from what I presume was an HR intern, who had no record of my prior phone call at all and I detailed my experiences and answered all the given questions from the beginning. This time, however, I got an email scheduling an interview. The interview was mostly behavioral, and when I tried to speak in the Royal "you," my interviewer, whom I spoke to several weeks prior however had no recollection, seemed to think I thought that she would be my manager. Additionally, present was another HR intern. The interviewer described to me that she believes this internship would be paid, however they have another comp sci related one that isn't (Seriously?). The interview took about 40 minutes.
My 2c, save your effort from applying to a company that doesn't pay its technical interns, doesn't keep good records, and has rude staff. The job board in which they posted is usually for paid interns. No where in the applications for any of their positions does it say unpaid. I think they're preying off young people who don't know that they can actually get paid. Not to mention the job title sounds like it was made up by someone who doesn't know much about anything.
