I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at BGC Group in Mar 2016
Interview
This was my initial interview and it was an online interview. There were three simple questions, which I had 30 seconds to prepare for (each) and two minutes to reply to (each as well). I was able to stop the recording of my answer whenever I desired. There also was a nice practice and set-up introduction session that made things much easier...
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Three simple questions:
1) Why BGC Partners?
2) When have you been part of a successful team? Describe the role you had on this team.
3) Please discuss your previous experience
4 questions on a Video Interview, 10 minute Telephone Interview, Two day Assessment Centre. Video interview was standard, similar to others I've done, phone interview mostly competency based, assessment centre held interviews and presentations as well as group exercises
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at BGC Group (London, England) in Mar 2018
Interview
Applied through recruiter. First stage video interview, very simple, outlining interests and commercial awareness. Second stage was telephone interview with recruiters going through motivations. Final stage was two day assessment centre, going through group tasks, presentations and numerical reasoning test, evening drinks with all levels of management ending in a final interview. The whole process was pleasant and staff were interesting people. Only issue being upon receiving results of the AC no feedback was given until I actively asked for it, furthermore it was extremely brief and made very little sense. Seems like they already knew who they were bringing in before the whole process even began.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BGC Group
Interview
there was none, it was referral based. Very easy if you know the right person. If you are older the interview process might be more intense or not. Just depends on what your book looks like at that point.
