Initial phone screen, then two technical interviews with engineering resources. I don't honestly recall what questions were asked or if there were in-person coding exercises, but I don't believe so. More attention was spent on the ability to build and lead a team, and on philosophy, which felt appropriate to their goals. I got just shy of an official offer, but unfortunately, the position was put on hold due to COVID-19 as they claimed they didn't want to onboard new members remotely. I was told I would be informed as the process went on, but I was then ghosted. Finally, four months later, unprompted, I received an email saying the position was eliminated. Curiously the email said they were responding to my inquiry, however I sent no such request - so maybe someone else in contention followed up and they sent an informal email blast to candidates? I don't know what happened here but it was disorganized at best - I would suggest candidates for this and other positions be upfront about how COVID-19 is affecting their hiring at all stages of the process and to be extra communicative.
