Applied, 2 days later I was called in for an interview. There was so much toxicity, I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START! First 5 seconds were normal, then the talent aq says “So I see you have a lot of keywords on your resume...” - this guy accuses me of stuffing resume right off the bat without asking me any technical questions. He just couldn’t believe my experience, and insulted my intelligence. The interview was easy, but he was purely rude. Unacceptable. Then his bias was finally showing, he assumed my ethnicity/race over the phone, when he tried to make a joke using urban African American slang, “oh, I SEE you”. Like huh???? Too many far-fetched assumptions to count in one a rushed 30 minute phone call. Very unprofessional and uncalled for. Then he tries to dissuade me the job, why bother wasting my time with an interview if you’re just going to flip and haul manipulative mind tricks. “You don’t want this job” that I’m very qualified for. In other words he just didn’t want to hire me based on what he thinks my identity is, because what changed a few seconds in the phone call to cause his behavior to turn hateful. He goes on. “Why should I not hire you as a [freelance] contractor?” With my expertise, I deserve the full-time job, compensation & benefits, not the job-hopping new grad who’s destroying your brand, just as described in the job description. So many negative assumptions made before even meeting me, it’s very frustrating and disappointing that I NEVER had a true, fair chance at any point in time. They plaster on their website about being inclusive and whoever they hired just aimlessly posts stock photos of black people to portray “diversity”. Their employee list is VERY washed with a couple of freckles. Anyway, the interview was not only utterly unacceptable, but a very RUSHED 30 minutes. Literally only allowed about 4 seconds to speak. As I’m answering one question, he cuts me off asking another question. He REALLY hated me based on his screwed Imagination or was intimidated that I potentially could take his job.
