I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BJC HealthCare (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2015
Interview
Applied online after speaking to nurse manager of department. Talent aquistion called and scheduled phone screening completed. I had interview with manager and charge nurses. When I came for interview, which I confirmed day prior, all had forgotten. They discussed the problems of the unit of which I felt I could assist with change. Offered position when I got home by recruiter. It was not the full time position I was told. They said I would make more but since I said yes, they never inquired to increase it. Started orientation 3 days later. Very rushed orientation and I feel it was just to get a warm, experienced body to work.

Interview
Found them at a virtual job fair. The recruiter was excellent and I loved the floor. I got an appointment for an interview with two floors and both the interview went similarly well! Very difficult questions but overall to rest your critical thinking and past experience. After the interview, they offered me the job on the spot! They gave me a tour of the unit and it was so fun to meet everyone. I wish I could have jotted down the names!

Interview
I was given clear instructions on how to get into the hospital complex, where to park, and where to pick up my visitors pass. SLCH has a very strict visiting policy, you will not be allowed to navigate the hospital without first checking in. They ask, who are you? Where are you going? and who are you here to see? I had a panel interview and it went pretty well. The team from this department was pretty down to earth, and seemed genuinely interested in getting someone who would be a good fit of the position. I was asked backs PALS questions- getting the questions wrong were not punitive, more so show the educator where I was and how she could help me during orientation. After the interview, they were timely with regards to giving me answers where they were in the hiring process, and if I was still being considered for the position. This is very nice since some places don't even bother to tell you you are no longer in the running.
