I had two rounds of virtual interviews: an HR screen and an interview with the hiring manager. Overall, I was excited about this opportunity, but felt that parts of the process were unorganized.
During the HR screen, the recruiter did not remember the title of the position for which I was interviewing. After I reminded her, she then spent a minute or so trying to find my resume. Maybe it was a bad day; I don't know, but it was a strange start to the process. The interview questions seemed fair and easy enough: we talked about my experience with Responsible AI and product management.
The next interview was with the hiring manager. It went smoothly, and he asked relevant questions for the role. We had a good discussion.
Afterwards, I was given several timelines for next steps, but none were met. I followed up twice over the couple of weeks. Eventually, I received a brief response saying that they decided to move forward with other candidates. I requested feedback, but have not received a response.
I understand that there is no obligation to provide feedback to candidates, but I've had more communicative and transparent experiences with other firms in this field.
Clearer timelines and more consistent communication would have made this process better.
