This was absolutely the worst interviewing process I have ever been through. The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and we had two phone calls that day. Things were going well with a few follow-up calls. I went in for an in-person interview after given short notice to throw together a few case studies (nothing wrong with that). After spending several hours on the case studies, buying a suit, running to the interviews and walking four people through the case studies for an hour, everyone thought it went well and they were impressed. Everything went down hill from there. The hiring manager asked me to make edits to the original case study given I had mentioned I would do so if I had more time to prepare, so I did. A total of seven hours were spent working on the case studies and an hour-long follow-up call to walk her through the edits to the original case study occurred shortly after. After yet another phone call for some 45 minutes (the 7th so far?) I asked for an answer (it had been over a month, possibly closer to two) and she said she would tell me the next week. That came and went so yet more follow-up emails went through looking for an answer. She states I won't hear for another four to six weeks, as "business could not make a decision until then." During this time the position was re-posted on LinkedIn. It was clear that she had Tinder syndrome, putting me "on-call" in case she could find someone better, dragging me along while she searched for the best candidate. More emails to her asking for an answer then after being ignored for another week, I tell her I am not interested in working for a person like her. Of course she then responds! Saying she picked a candidate late last week and was trying to save face in front of HR (I copied them on the emails) by telling me she was considering me for another role on the team during the process (BS). Needless to say, this has been absolutely the worst interview experience I have ever had the displeasure of surviving. I'm sure BMO is a great company to work for, but for BMO's sake, I hope that woman never interviews anyone again.
