Applied for the position online, and received an invitation for a phone interview with HR to talk about my experience and about the position and the company. I was provided a take-home coding assignment which had a deadline of a week. The coding assignment consisted of writing a function and writing tests for the function. I provided a solution which I thought was sufficient, but HR replied that there was a miscommunication with the hiring manager and that the position was no longer required. The whole process felt scummy to get people to write code for them. I requested for feedback on my solution for my benefit, which none of provided and was returned with a prompt "This position is no longer open. We will contact you if a position opens up."
