I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BSI (London, England)
Interview
I applied for the Accountant position at BSI and was invited to a first round virtual interview within a few days, which demonstrated an efficient process. However, several aspects of the interview experience left me feeling disappointed.
During the interview, I discovered that both interviewers had only recently joined the company, just a few weeks prior. This was unexpected, as the HR email described them as heads of the department. One interviewer clarified during the meeting that she was actually a consultant, not a head. This inconsistency in communication from HR was confusing and unprofessional.
I received an update after a week, informing me that my application was unsuccessful. However, no constructive feedback was provided.
Overall, while the quick scheduling of the interview was appreciated, the miscommunication regarding the interviewers' roles and the absence of feedback after the interview left a negative impression.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions included competency based and technical accounting topics, such as internally generated intangible assets and IFRS 16. While the technical questions were challenging and relevant, they were fair for the role.
