I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Backbase in Feb 2026
Interview
Recommend heavily preparing for the interview and coming to the call with questions and knowing a lot about tailoring campaigns for individualized audiences, especially as it relates to ABM strategies. They are very focused on getting the exact right message to the exact right person, going as far as to develop a newsletter that is only sent to one person, especially tailored for them.

Question 1
They asked about what I knew about ABM strategies and the most tailored campaign I had ever run.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Backbase (Amsterdam) in Feb 2021
Interview
First had a chat with a recruiter, then with someone within Backbase with the same type of role. After that a conversation with the hiring manager, and then a conversation with both of the previous people. Then a meeting with 2 people from the team I'd be joining, and a meeting with the VP of Strategy followed by a case presentation. So about 8 meetings in total. Also some informal calls with HR or the hiring manager on the process or clarification of some processes.
Sounds like a lot, but it all took place in a 3 week period. We did not lose any momentum. I'd say it was an overal pleasant experience.

Question 1
Lots of questions related to the role of course, both on subject matter and the processes involved, team dynamics & leadership styles. But one of the questions I liked best was: 'What would make you decide to decline a possible offer from us?'
