I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Baker Hughes (Florence) in May 2018
Interview
The first step consists in the application form online, followed by an interview on-demand with recorded questions (standard HR questions, about 5-6 in English + one in Italian) and then a Skype interview with the HR (follow-up on the previous answers, again standard HR questions). The last step is the in-house group assessment.
There is no mention of geographic restrictions during the assessment process, but it turned out to be a key "go - no go" factor to being selected for the in-house day. I had specified my current location on my CV (I was in another continent at the time) and I had asked how it would work in case of selection, without getting a reply. Their stand became clear when I eventually introduced the question in the one-to-one interview, and the answer was something like "sorry but you are in [Country], I can ask my manager but I don't see that working, you should definitely apply next year". I would recommend the company to specify date/location restrictions in the first application stage, as this really comes across as a lack of respect towards your candidates and the time and effort they invest in this.
For the rest, the process was quite efficient and the communication between assessment stages was good.
