The interview process consisted of three interviews. The first one was with the HR business partner who gave an overview of the position and asked a few qualifying questions. The second interview was with the security manager and another team member who asked mostly about my experience and some questions regarding my technical acumen. The third and final interview was with my would be managers manager and the rest of the team. The second and third interviews were scheduled for half an hour but went close to an hour. The interviews were relatively relaxed as they asked mostly about my skills and prior working experience. I did not feel pressured at all.
If you don't hear anything after 5 to 7 days, it means that they filled the position with someone else. I finally got an email stating such after I followed up with an email to the HR business partner checking in on the position.
One thing that they could have done better would have been to follow up with some feedback as to why I was not selected after three fairly lengthy interviews. I think that would be very helpful. If it's a skills or experience issue, I could apply again some other time if there's an available position and I've improved on those areas. If it's a bad cultural fit, I can cut my losses and consider opportunities with other employers moving forward. I would just benefit knowing why.
