I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital in Apr 2012
Interview
I was called in by Banfield for a panel interview for a Practice Manager position. The field director was extremely disorganized and did not provide detailed directions on where the interview would take place (in an industrial warehouse) as he had said he would do. I was extremely lucky that I got there with a lot of time to spare.
The panel interview went well. It was over 1 hour in length, and the field directors as well as practice managers sitting in on the interview were very professional and friendly. After the panel interview, one of the field directors continued to have communication with me. Despite their extreme disorganization and lack of communication amongst each other, I was able to observe in one of the hospitals as well as have a second informal interview with one of the Medical Directors.
Salary was discussed, and I was told they would be determining which location I would be most successful in. At this point, I expected an offer to be made soon. This process took about 3 weeks. I continued to follow up with the field director. She would continue to say that things were being worked out, and she would contact me as soon as possible. Shortly after, she stopped responding to my e-mails and phone calls.
I am very happy now that this position did not work out for me. I do not want to be a part of an organization that is so unorganized and unprofessional. If Banfield decided to go with someone else for this position, the field director should have had the professionalism and courtesy to tell me so, instead of saying she would call me after a meeting, but never doing so....
I can tell that the work culture at Banfield is stressful. I could tell immediately that you are expected to be at work at any time, even on your off days. They identified the importance of a work/life balance, except I did not see that in any of their own lives at all!
I wish that I wouldn't have devoted as much time to this process as I did.

Question 1
Give me an example of how you were able to handle a difficult customer.
Very drawn out interview process with little respect for the candidate’s time. Several broken promises in terms of timeframe as well as offer details. I wasn’t expecting much, but I still came out disappointed
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital (Columbus, OH) in Nov 2023
Interview
Was reached out by field leader to set 30 minutes interview without me applying for the position. Did that one then a week later had a second interview with same person and a peer of hers. After that interview I was told that I would be notified of the results the next day whether selected or not. Mind you again, I didn’t applied so I had no official communication from them. I tried to call and text and email but the leader never responded. I took that as a negative thing. Even if I was offered a position I wouldn’t had taken it given the fact that the leader is hard to reach. Both interviews were in the span of a week. The position was filled a month after initial contact.
