I got an email from the recruiter asking for times to schedule the initial phone screen. One day before the interview date I get a mail from another recruiter from the company saying that the recruiter who schedule the interview is on leave and she would be talking to me. So far, so good.
The interview seemed very mechanical. They asked me the usual questions about my experience and why I would be a good fit for the role. I was told that they would reach out to me regarding the next steps by the end of the week.
I have not heard anything from them so far. I looked up for the original recruiter who scheduled the interview and found out that they left the company. I am very pissed off at how the company handles the interview candidates. If you found a better fit for the role that's understandable, or if you are still interested in me, but communicate it-that's very basic. Just because you have someone leave the company doesn't mean you stop hiring for the role!
A part of me is glad that I did not get selected, because I don't know how the (mis)management of the company would be. Very unprofessional!
