      Perl Developer Interview

      Mar 12, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bank of America (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2010

      Interview

It took a couple of weeks from the time the recruiter submitted my info until BofA first contacted me. The skills test was a time-boxed, 2-hour assignment sent via email and certainly doable if you worked with Perl before. For the group phone interview, have some answers handy for the classical questions like where do you see yourself in five years. One of the interviewers seemed a bit opinionated and old-school as it relates to traditional RDBMS versus more modern databases. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that I was not contacted at all afterwards although the interview went well. I followed up with them after one week to request an update about the next steps. A standard decline email was sent within five minutes of my call.

      Interview

The interview process is tedious and one needs to prepare accordingly. There are several rounds(upto 5 rounds, may be more) of interview. Since the team members, with which one is supposed to work, themselves take interview, there are very less chances of getting through connections unless one is worthy of it.
