Conversation with HR rep- pleasant conversation. Nothing difficult. Next step- Zoom interview with the department manager. Pleasant, professional conversation. Questions about my experience. Not an interrogation style. Next step -conversation with his boss, a VP. Pleasant conversation. Similar to the first interview. At the end, he stated that I would definitely hear something in a few days. I suspect there were concerns that I was overqualified, because a few days passed, I heard nothing. Reached out to HR - was told they were still interviewing other candidates. Reached out again about a few times in the weeks ahead- same story. I've received no official rejection, but I don't need it - it's assumed. I was initially disappointed, but I'm actually grateful this happened. A larger company, nationally known, offered me a similar position. My caution to those interviewing, like I was- if you hear the phrase "you'll definitely hear something in a few days" - don't be so certain until you have that offer letter! =)
