I had applied to Barclays through college placements at Pune. The first round was an aptitude test in which the first part consisted of 3 sections, quantitative, verbal and logical reasoning. The questions were of moderate level, the only challenging part was time management. The second part was coding test which had 2 questions, the first one was to check whether a given number is a Niven number, and the second one, consider a robot, an instruction array is provided as input LRRLL4. 3 types of instructions can be given to that robot, 1.L(to move left, decrement position count by 1), 2. R(to move right, increment position count by 1), 3. Instruction number(to jump back to that specified instruction). Due to time constraint I was able to solve the first one completely with all test cases and the second one partially. The results of the aptitude test were announced on the next day, and fortunately I was one of the 60 students shortlisted by Barclays. There were 2 interview rounds, technical and HR, which were conducted on the same day. My technical interview took place for around 1 hour and was quite easy. The interviewer was extremely friendly and seemed extremely interested in the projects I had done during my college. After this round 30 students were shortlisted for HR round and I was one of them. I found the HR round more challenging than the technical round. It took place for around 30-45 minutes. There were two interviewers, they initially asked me about how did the last interview go and what according to me went wrong. Basic HR questions like your weaknesses, strengths, who do you admire the most in college, etc. Barclays, being a bank, the main focus of the entire HR round was to examine the integrity of the students and during this they try to grill you by giving tricky situations to check how you tackle them. At the end of the day they announced the results, and I got selected. Do a quick company study before appearing for the interview (Barclays values and purpose -RISES).Focus on your technical strengths, make sure you know everything from your resume, and stay confident and be yourself during the HR round!
