I applied online and a week later a lady in Talent Adquisition contacted me by phone without any notice. I missed the call and she then emailed me asking me if we could have a call and at that point, I was able to find out that it was her because the mobile phone number of the missed call matched the one on the signature of her email that she sent me following her phone call. At this point, I was not very impressed because usually professional recruiters do not call candidates unexpectedly, instead, they usually write an email first and request to schedule a call as it is understood that confidential information is discussed on those calls and it is important to be at the right place to be able to speak in private. I replied to her email quite quickly proposing a time to speak next day in the morning and she confirmed that it suited her perfectly. Next day, she did not call me at all. As I was waiting and she was not calling me, 15 mins after the time she should have called me I sent her an email asking her whether she was still interested in having the call. She did not reply either. She only sent me an email at the very end of the day saying that she had been very busy and asking if we could talk the next day but not even apologizing for not calling when we had scheduled. I obviously replied to her expressing my disappointment with her prima donna behaviour and that I was no longer interested in continuing with the process, in fact, I went online and I withdrew the application myself as I certainly do not wish to work with someone who has no principles, treats candidates like job beggars and thinks that only her time is important. She demonstrated an unprofessional behaviour right from the beginning and considering that this behaviour comes from someone in HR then I preferred not to imagine the rest so a good escape on time is always a victory!
