The person conducting the interview was intelligent, but he had no experience in the federal or IC market space, nor did he have any appreciable engineering skills. I think the mis-match between my education and skills and his may have been a bit intimidating for him. During the interview it came out that the firm has been in business for 20 years, but it has only 100 employees. I would not have interviewed with him if I'd known that in advance. My bad for not doing my due diligence. Now that I've checked in on Glassdoor after-the-fact, I can also see from the reported salaries that they only pay peanuts. I've learned my lesson: next time I'll check in with Glassdoor first so I don't waste my time.
