I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Battelle in Jan 2014
Interview
Several phone interviews and a day of on site interviews peer and "senior" staff in group area as well as customer the role served. Some staff were not trained on how to interview which was interesting and some staff were very introverted and found the interview process difficult especially when a candidate would ask detailed questions on workflow. Overall a standard scientific interview for a scientific role
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Battelle (Pueblo, CO) in Nov 2016
Interview
Met with floor personnel, supervisors and manager. There was not a lot of substance involved in the interview. Most of it revolved around basic concepts such as what quality control/assurance is and how it applies to the position. The interview was brief and it felt as if they were desperate to get someone into the position. Of course there are the standard HR questions "How do you handle another employee's reaction to your bad news?" and "Do you feel comfortable working near chemicals that are hazardous?"
