I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Battelle (Columbus, OH)
Interview
The process was a 1 hour presentation to a panel of people followed by 4.5 hours of one-on-one interviews with different managers and people on the team. Most of the questions asked were very technical, not a lot of soft skills but more math and programming to make sure I could do the job. It took 3 weeks to hear back after the interview date.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Battelle (Columbus, OH)
Interview
Initial interview in 1985 was two full days with 10 separate one-on-one interviews with everyone from senior department manager to; peers-to-be, human resources, benefits... name it. Also included full escorted tours of facilities and a dinner interview with my two would-be immediate line managers on the evening of the first day. Provided excellent planning, preparation, itinerary, documentation, full relocation package. First-rate top-to-bottom and side-to-side. All that for a fresh college grad with internship experience.
