Interview
All candidates were invited on the same day. Every candidate (5 in total) made a presentation of ~ 20 minutes, followed by questions. Then there was lunch with a group of people of Bayer and in the afternoon a series of individual interviews with HR, future possible colleagues, head of the group, other colleagues/experts. Total duration from 8.30am to 6pm.
The day of the interview was chosen by Bayer and there was no possibility to change it because all the candidates needed to be present at the same time. Not very convenient.
Selection of the candidates was made based on CV. There was a phone call before the meeting but the invitation was already given. It was only to provide info about how the interview day was going to be organized.

Pretty standard questions, mainly focused on the job function. Mainly technical questions and usual standard HR questions.
Three rounds of interviews: one online HR interview, one online interview with the team lead, and one in-person interview with the entire team. The in-person interview lasts an entire day and is an intensive assessment.

Behavioral based interview format conducted virtually. Standard for industry highlighting technical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Overall aligned with job description and role responsibilities. Multiple rounds of interviews required.
