Basically I talked to the professor I am interested directly, and I had a phone interview and then a on site interview. Talked about my previous research. And asked whether I understood numerical modeling on electromagnetic problems

Emailed the professor to see if there were any positions open. She confirmed that there were. She told me about the project and I started doing research. Professor previously knew me.
