Interview
ewww stay away!! i applied to one of their postings on linkedin in NYC. Recruiter called me a few days later, she asked me to come in person to their midtown office so she could go over my resume and see what jobs i'm interested in. She was very adamant about meeting in person (i think they must need to meet a certain number of in person consults) Beforehand she made me fill out this long sheet asking for references (personal and professional) as well as previous jobs I've applied to in the past 6 months. I went in person and she had another girl there who was new and shadowing her. We went over my resume for about 10 minutes where after she said that she didn't actually have any jobs available currently. She sent me a email after and also said to let her know if i'm in any other interview processes. Aside from this follow up email I haven't gotten any updates from her and this was a month ago. I was optimistic and tried to give the benefit of the doubt but all these recruitment agencies want to do is meet their quotas and take your data. It's on me for sharing sensitive information in the first place but afterwards it didn't sit right with me. Why do you need to know what jobs i'm applying to as well as have references before an offer has been extended. I also believe they've reached out to my personal references without my knowledge or consent trying to get them to come in for "interviews". They also don't disclose how they store this data and for how long. I shoulve have asked but again in the moment sometimes you forget but beware!!! they just have numbers they need to reach and quotas to ensure they get their commission. stay away!!!
