I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Beam Organics in Jan 2026
Interview
The recruiter approached me on LinkedIn. The process seemed simple enough: a few convos, take home, and a final chat with the cofounders. When I first met with the recruiter, she emphasized that they "had plenty of runway" and "were doing really well." A bit suspicious to emphasize unprompted. A brief Google search will show you that their last public raise, a Series A, was in 2021... The rest of the conversations went pretty well, the hiring manager had really positive feedback for my take home, even saying she wanted to reach out to product about my ideas (probably should have been a red flag). They did a pretty good job communicating with me, which set the stage for an uncomfortable 10+ days where I was waiting for feedback after the case study. At the end of it, I got a canned email about "moving forward with better fits," even though the recruiter reached out to me specifically for my background and my background was emphasized as a positive throughout the process. I can't tell if they were just fishing for ideas or under-resourced/disorganized, but it was definitely disappointing.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Beam Organics
Interview
Holy crap am I traumatized from this interview process.
Was strung along for two MONTHS. 5 interviews, 1 four hour long project later, just for the team to pass and say “we’re still thinking about it”.
Start up company running off two founders who have no clear identity and roadmap for the brand, and that evidently trickles down internally. Save yourself the time, bandwidth, and move on from this one.

Question 1
Couldn’t even keep track with the 5 full interviews I did discussing the same things over and over again.
Initial interview was with a recruiter who went over job description, job location (position would be hybrid with the option to work in a coworking space), and the job requirements.
