one technical round with senior process engineers 1 HOD round with the head, after that HR round. only the first Technical round is main the remaining were like formality. Process and Equipment design is enough.

I was approached by Bechtel's recruitment agents regarding the Process Engineer role in London. This was exciting as it would have meant a career change for me, which also meant I was surprised due to the lack of Process Engineering experience I had. The hiring manager got back to the agent and hadn't realised I had less than 5 years experience, and hence dropped the hourly rate, which was fine. It was all confirmed and came to interview day. My interviewer was a supposed MSc/PhD professional with a recent masters in environmental and social responsibility. In the interview I was notified that the role was actually clerking, (technical clerk). I was told this at the start of the interview as to not 'waste our time,' when in fact I had prepared to be asked technical chemical engineering questions and questions with regards to the project, EPC and FEED stages, and I had taken a day off from my current role. In the moment I didn't want to let this prospective opportunity pass, but having thought on it, I realised HOW TRULY INTIMIDATING THIS EXPERIENCE WAS. To go in as a MSc engineering graduated, with 2 years of experience, and to be offered a CLERKING ROLE. Bechtel blamed the agent, and the agent blamed Bechtel. Despicable company, who do not seem to value their employees, and see everyone as dollar signs. Bechtel were disinterested and did not want to challenge me or my knowledge.
