Phone screening by company recruiter for 45 minutes. He said he will get back to me on interview with hiring manager. But he insisted I provide my SSN and complete a background check before the interview to proceed. I never got an interview call despite follow up with CFCU. After several days I got a message saying that they filled the position. I felt they used my resume as an eye wash for audit purposes to hire someone of their choice. I was not comfortable that they asked me my SSN for background check at a phone screening without even a preliminary interview. I provided it because i was told I need to get background clearance to proceed. There is nothing in my background to be disqualified. The company has no diversity and believe I was discriminated against. They have no business taking people’s SSNs without even shortlisting them for an interview. I sure would like to see the company’s HR practices audited.
