I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Belk (Conway, AR) in Jun 2016
Interview
the interview process went really good. I spoke with two different individuals and was offered the job on the spot. They asked for more information to put in my file and my available days which I was available anytime and i was told i would get a call to start training. two days later I got a phone call from HR to complete an employee tax credit questionnaire. I assumed after that everything was good, 3 days later never heard from them so I called to see if anything had changed with the job offer and never received a callback. it was clearly obvious by that point they had changed their minds but neglected to inform me with a callback or email. That was a waste of time and really stressful I had received another job offer somewhere else for cashier/retail but declined it assuming Belk would be somewhere I could have stayed for awhile being that my major is fashion merchandising.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
what would you consider your weakness?
are you comfortable working with the public?
I was a referral and had a brief discussion with the manager and got the job relatively easily. I think getting this job was one of the easier jobs I was able to obtain. However, this was back in 2010.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me what my availability would be since it was around the holiday season.
One Interview with the department manager for a sales position. Super short, simple, and to the point.
I received the offer same down and then had to schedule onboarding with Human Resources.
It was your basic questions. Went fine. Nothing too detailed but it was for a base position at the holidays. They were looking for anyone dependable with a car basically.
