I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Belk in Jun 2013
Interview
Filled out application online and was contacted within a week. Had a phone interview with local HR rep and was asked the standard questions that everyone asked theses days, "Tell me about a time..... or Give me an example of when you....". HR rep was a bit unorganized and could not answer any of my questions about the position. Got a call a week later from HR wanting to set up another phone interview on short notice with the hiring manager. Had a phone interview with the hiring manager and was asked more of the same standard questions from a preprinted interview guide. Was told by the hiring manager that they had a few more interviews to complete that week then they would call in the most qualified candidates the next week for face to face interviews. Never heard back from anyone. I know for sure that I was the most qualified candidate in the area and there were maybe 1 or 2 candidates at most that would have even come close to being qualified. The entire process seemed pretty unorganized and unprofessional, I'm glad I did not get a job with Belk.
