I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Belk (Charlotte, NC) in Jun 2017
Interview
I interviewed with five pairs of interviewers in 30-minute blocks in one day for an entry-level position. It was chaotic, with the candidates picking up our portfolios and belongings, going from room to room to room. Kind of like speed dating with luggage in tow. We interviewees were originally all seated together, so we "saw" our competition. Later, I found out that the hiring managers were initially asked by the HR Manager to rate the candidates with a thumbs up, or a thumbs down. Who does that?

Interview
Took almost 2 months in total. Generally speaking, everyone was very nice but was disappointed by the lack of helpful feedback and consideration, given how much time you give them during the entire process. HR Call - 30 Mins Direct Manager - 30 Mins Panel Interview - 2 Hours Project round - Spent a decent amount of time on this, only required to email Honestly quite disappointed because you spend a fair amount of time on the project and just email it over. It was dead silent for almost 2 weeks. Really would have been nice to get a ‘confirming receipt’ or ‘thanks’ but did not get any response - which honestly made me nervous they didn’t get it. I was very excited initially as I felt the manager and I got a long very great but then how silent and dragged out the process became made me realize it wouldn’t be the right fit. If they can’t appreciate your time during this process, they likely won’t appreciate it working there either.
