After passing the screening with the recruiter, I was contacted by the Company's Human Resource Director and given the name of the Company's other Regional Managers. I was instructed to contact them to get an understanding of their experiences working for the Company. This process took two weeks, due to the other Regional's schedules. The Company set up for me to fly to Buffalo to for an interview. This took 5 weeks. Once I was there, the person who headed the Company instructed me to sit in a conference room and speak with all of the Company's personnel, 10 of them all told. After this grueling process was over, it was 20 minutes until I had to leave for the plane ride home. Only at this point did the person who I was told I was there to meet with entered the room. She asked me what I thought of the information I had obtained.She never attempted to interview me or ask me anything related to my resume. I was put in a cab and sent to the airport. 3 months later I was contacted by the recruiter and informed that they were not interested in me. When I asked the recruiter if they gave a reason, he said that they said that, "They go by gut feelings, and something seemed off." I was stunned to say the least. I should say that the recruiter was a very professional and kind person who did everything in his power to keep me informed. I was told several times that I was the #1 choice and that I should remain paitient. I have never been treated this badly in an interview situation and am still puzzled at how things transpired. Very strange. I came away thinking that you have to fit into a specific mold, perhaps a "sports minded, club spirited" mind set, of which I am not. All around very very strange and unusal experience.
