Applied online in the August, received a phone call last week in October and was asked to do a short over the phone interview, after completing this the lady asked me to attend a face to face interview the week after, 3rd November 2015 (which happened to be my birthday!). I arrived early and met a lady at the Costa Coffee in the Trafford Centre where she went through few questions and my availability, experience etc, really simple and basic. After that she informed me that I had successfully got through to the next stage which would take place 2 hours later at the Benefit counter. I arrived at the counter, a few minutes early to show eagerness, where I was told to sit and wait for another lady. Another girl arrived for the interview and we was both made to wait for around 30 minutes (the interview was 20 minutes late). We were then shown a few different benefit products and was asked what we knew about them and if we had ever tried them, which I did and had, compared to the other girl who'd never used benefit before. We were then sent onto the shop floor to find customers and to try our products on....NIGHTMARE. Tuesday dinner time, no one around and those who where there were rushing around on their dinner hour, and did not want some girl being interviewed testing products on them. I managed to seat 2 customers, the same as the other girl, and sold one product. After our time was up the lady told us they would contact us soon and that it could take 3 weeks.. It's now JANUARY and I've not heard a thing! The only thing I did hear was on the same day later on, the lady who originally rang me asked me why I hadn't turned up for my interview, as to which I was obviously very confused as I'd just got back! To which she said she must have been given the wrong name and she would sort it. So not quite sure what went on here at Benefit but I'm highly disappointed in the fact that I didn't receive any kind of response from my interview. Also, if you're not a pushy and over confident person, I would seriously not bother applying for a sales job here.
