The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Best Buy
Interview
I had 2 interview for this position. 1 over the phone and 1 in store with 2 managers.
The phone interview was about 20 minutes and was more of a gage of my product knowledge and my job experience. This was a pretty easy chat, you don’t have to given long drawn out responses. Mostly they’re just judging if you can hold a conversation and are comfortable speaking.
The in person interview was about an hour. They get you to fill out a standard application and then sit down for a one on one with a hiring manager/or general manager typically. These questions focused more on the core values of Best Buy—they verify if you would be a good fit to these values by asking both situational questions, and questions drawing from your past work experience.
The virtues of Best Buy are very team oriented with outlines of growth and mentorship. Super positive. This also leads into strong customer service virtues as well—so be prepared to demonstrate this eagerness and use your personality to your advantage while answering questions. Also giving a positive spin on all answers, making objections solutions etc. Giving examples of how you overcame hardships in work, life etc.
I was given a position on the spot. But it was because of my dedication and true want to work for Best Buy. My eagerness was genuine, I wasn’t nervous as I had prepared myself and had my product knowledge down, I LISTENED closely especially when the values of Best Buy were being laid out—I connected with those values immediately and I am beyond happy with the result of my perseverance and composure :)).
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
A time where you were given criticism by a superior—how did you apply this? What was the outcome
Recorded interview: asked basic about me overview question, why best buy, and a few scenario question touching on customer privacy and respect. Overall very smooth, did not get a call back due to locations
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They always tend to start with the "tell me about yourself" where you essentially pitch yourself in 90 seconds or less.
Star method questions. Depending on the location they each have a very different interview process. The first two were more lengthy and expected you to do a demonstration or convincing them to buy something whereas my third interview at a different location was very laid back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Bestbuy and can you tell me about your last experience.
It was not too long and was a good process. They asked me about eight questions so that was not bad at all. Just make sure you act professionally and be positive throughout the process is what’s most important of all.
