I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Richmond, VA) in Oct 2013
Interview
The interview process was relaxed. A few specific questions were asked as to how I would handle specific issues common in a retail environment.
The drug test took about two weeks, I was told by the lab if I tested positive I would be reported to the authorities (pretty sure they said State Police) also to a national database as testing positive for illegal drug use, if unable to prove it was a legal precription with in 72 hours, They called me on a Friday while being out of town and I almost didn't make the deadline to prove my Rx was legal. I don't use illegal drugs but nevertheless it scared the hell out of me as I care about other people and their militant nature. There are no laws here protecting the rights of people receiving drug test, no protection if you can't miss the deadline or if a misstate is theirs. You have no legal recourse and your name would be on the list like forever. I would not want to have another drug test under these conditions, it's just plain wrong even diabolical. It was just a urine test, but the temperature has to be right, if mine were one degree colder it would not have been accepted. My body temperature is much colder than most people, almost three degrees colder. .
