I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Big Lots in Feb 2011
Interview
Interviewed for what I thought was a store manager position. Ended up being for an assoc iate manager job. I only learned for sure that it was a different job than I thought when I was asked my pay expectations.
I was then told it was an hourly wage. Unfortunate, because I thought the interview went well otherwise.
Easy, round table format. Talked with other store managers and the DM. Asked basic retail questions and talked about my background in retail. Was not difficult at all. Did go into detail about a day in the life
They will call. Either set up an interview face to face or set up a phone interview. Stander associate will have one to two. Manager position will have 3-4 with multiple supervisors.
