I was found by a recruiter via LinkedIn and asked if I’d be interested in a preliminary interview for a role he was hiring. I spent 30 minutes talking about the position only to be told that I might be a hard sell. Keep in mind, I hadn’t applied and was sought out. I was also asked what I expected to make, as if to grovel. I said you have me the salary in your email and I expect to be paid in that range. Despite being a hard sell, we agreed to move forward with an interview with the hiring manager for the following week. I sent a thank you email and then, crickets. I followed up again with the recruiter via LinkedIn, thinking perhaps I might’ve had the wrong email and still, crickets. I imagine this is a glimpse into the company culture and I’m glad I dodge this bullet. Job seekers beware..
