The interview process was extremely broken. They had interviewers who didn't even show up to the scheduled interviews, on more than one occasion. They had no plan, just random people would be selected to conduct the interview - which was confirmed to me in the final rounds when the hiring manager had no idea who had actually interviewed me! Interviews just drug on and on for months! Over a dozen interviews, ending with the CEO who kind of rambled in his questions, asked mostly irrelevant questions to the role and told me that his goal since starting the company was to grow it but now he just wanted to sell it off. With every interview, I realized more and more how broken and unorganized the company was, and how bad their processes and their "new" plans were. The nicest person I met, who was in charge of benefits, told me she knew nothing about HR, they had just asked her to do the job and she was kind of enjoying it. They even had me meet with a "consultant" who was just a former employee of the hiring manager at another company and was nice but clearly was very very junior. By the final round of interviews I was so bothered and disgusted by the entire situation, I almost didn't want to show up, but I did anyway. I just wanted to see if maybe it was better in person than it had been on the phone, and it was even worse.
