      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Birlasoft (Pune) in Aug 2025

      Interview

contacted by an HR representative after they saw my Naukri profile, and I was invited for a remote interview. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, and I feel it’s important to share this so that the management is aware and can take appropriate steps if needed. The interviewer was in a very bad mood From the beginning . As soon as the interview started, they directly jumped into technical question without introduction, which I understand that it can be normal. However, as I was answering, they repeatedly interrupted me saying my name 2-3 times and telling me to keep my answers short, in a very rude and dismissive tone. I understand the need for concise answers, but the way it was communicated lacked basic courtesy and professionalism. It felt like the interviewer had no interest in having a respectful conversation. To make things worse, their voice was extremely low as if they weren’t using a proper microphone or headset. When I politely informed them that I was having trouble hearing, they got visibly annoyed. The entire experience felt like a headache. As candidates, we invest a lot of time and energy preparing for these interviews because they are life-changing opportunities for many of us. Unfortunately, interviews like this can completely ruin that opportunity due to the unprofessional behavior of the interviewer. I hope the management reviews this feedback seriously and considers assigning such responsibilities to professionals who are calm, respectful, and understand the importance of creating a positive experience for candidates. The result of the interview is still pending, but to be honest, after this experience, I no longer care about the outcome. I’m sharing this so that future candidates get some questions and don’t go through the same thing and so that the management and other interviewers are aware of how these interactions reflect on the organization.

      Question 4

You have a report with 4 attributes and 4 metrics (M1, M2, M3, M4). At the report level, there’s a filter for Country = India. The report is showing state-wise data. Now, for one specific metric (M3), you want it to show data only for Telangana state, while the other metrics (M1, M2, M4) should still show data for all states in India. Question 6

You have two datasets. Dataset A returns 100 rows when run standalone. Dataset B returns 50 rows when run standalone. But when both datasets are brought into one dashboard/dossier, Dataset B only shows 30 rows inside the dashboard. The same report (outside the dashboard) returns 50 rows — why do you see only 30 inside the dashboard? What might be wrong and how would you resolve it?
      Answer question

      Question 7

Inside a MicroStrategy dossier, there’s a date selector (a control that lets you pick a date). The customer wants it so that: When they open the dossier today, the selector should default to today’s date. Tomorrow, it should automatically default to tomorrow’s date. After loading, the user can still change the date manually. But right now, the selector always shows the same saved date (whatever it was when the dossier was last saved) instead of updating daily. Question: How would you make the date selector default to the current date each time the dossier is run?
