I applied for a position as an Operations Engineer online and the recruiter responded quickly. Within a day I had an in-person interview with two different people on the IT operations team. The interview went fairly well, they didn't ask me too many difficult questions, and then I left after about an hour. After that I heard nothing, for nearly a month. They decided to hire somebody else for the role, but wondered if I was interested in working with the Sofware Support team, so I said yes. I interviewed a second time, and this time the questions were easier, and the interview was much shorter. As I looked around the place and as I talked with my interviewers, I realized that this place is a bit disorganized, and a tad unprofessional. It seems that roles within the company aren't fully defined, and that each person kind of "marks there territory" and takes on extra projects as they see fit. I think this company could be a great place to work as a young single-person, but it could be a bit trying if you are trying to find a good work/life balance. It definitely has the wild-west cowboy experience of working for a startup company, even though this company has been around for seven years already.
