      Back-end Interview

      Mar 21, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bitly (New York, NY) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Phone interview, then was given a programming assignment that was extremely difficult. I wasn't able to complete it. The interview process was quite rushed, and they gave me 3 days to complete an assignment I had never done before. It was a lot for just an internship, and I didn't have much/any experience as a back end developer, so I wished they had given me something I was actually able to complete.

Thanks for your feedback on the cadence of our interviewing process. It’s true, we’re seeing a lot of candidates for our internships and it’s competitive. We would definitely invite you to ask for an extension next time. We’re quite understanding when it comes to these things and if you need more time, we’d be happy to work with you. We wish you all the best in finding the perfect internship for the summer!
