I applied online. I interviewed at BlackRock (Hong Kong) in Dec 2017
Interview
Extremely pleasant. The interviewers struck me as the most genuine of all the banks/AM firms I've interviewed at. They make the effort to be pleasant and does not put up an intimidating front like many other IBs. They do spend a lot of time trying to get to know you. The questions they ask aren't very probing, so you have to make the effort to try to impress them with your knowledge.

Why Hong Kong?
(Mainly questions about the CV and past experiences, so know your CV inside out and be prepared to talk about and present yourself well. The challenge is that they don't probe, so in order to leave an impression on them you have to take initiative).
only one round of interview after hr phone screening, met 6 team members in 3 small rounds of interviews at once. The entire interview lasted for 1.5 hours, and had the chance to meet interviewers from associate level to director.
Made it to the last stage of the interview process and got rejected! It was still a good process, learnt a lot. Make sure to really understand the values that it takes to succeed at BR
