I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackRock in Feb 2018
Interview
At first, I had to submit a hirevue application. It consisted of two questions (Why Blackrock?/Why this position?) and you had 5 minutes to prepare, 1:30 min to answer. (video) After one month, I got invited for two interviews (2 x 30 min) at the Blackrock office itself. It was with two people from the team I applied to. Questions were all competence-based. Introduction was in German and the rest was in English.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
